Text Formats
Text Formats in Anyword let you define how generated copy should be structured and presented. From character limits to capitalization rules, Text Formats ensure your content always follows your brand’s preferred writing conventions.
Why Text Formats Matter
-
Consistency → Keep copy aligned with brand or style guide rules.
-
Efficiency → Reduce manual editing by applying formatting automatically.
-
Flexibility → Set different formats for different channels (e.g., email subject lines vs. blog headers).
How Text Formats Work
Text Formats allow you to create and save rules that guide Anyword’s output. You can:
-
Apply formats → Such as numbers, dates, abbreviations, etc.
-
Set character limits → Example: limit subject lines to 50 characters.
-
Define capitalization rules → Example: always generate in Title Case.
-
Assign defaults to text types → Example: email subject lines always follow Title Case, ad headlines follow sentence case.
Creating a Text Format
-
Go to Brand Voice in the left-hand menu.
-
Select Text Formats.
-
Click New.
-
Add a Format name.
-
Enter Instructions (e.g., “Max 50 characters,” “Always use Title Case”).
-
(Optional) Assign a Default Channel/Text Type where this format should apply automatically.
-
Save your format — it’s now available across your workspace.
Examples
-
Combined → Numbers spelled out under 10, correct use of commas, standard abbreviation rules.
-
Title Case (50 characters max) → For email subject lines.
-
Sentence Case → For blog headers and social captions.
Best Practices
-
Match your brand style guide → Use existing rules as a foundation.
-
Customize per channel → Different platforms require different approaches (LinkedIn vs. Email).
-
Set defaults → Save time by applying formats automatically where needed.
-
Review regularly → Update rules as your brand voice evolves.
By defining Text Formats, you ensure every generation follows consistent structural and stylistic rules — keeping your copy polished, professional, and aligned with your brand.
